I observed the WHITE PELICAN from Erieau this Saturday morning. It was on
the little island with Cormorants, etc. that is on the edge of Rondeau
Park's marsh. Scope is required!
You must go to the Government dock (where the fish tugs tie up) and look
across the Bay.
Nothing special at Rondeau Park. A Prothonotary Warbler was at the bottom
end of south point trail along the lake, just wandering around.
In the oddity department, a Chipping Sparrow singing a Clay-colored song is
along Lakeshore Rd. just before South Point Trail parking lot. It has been
there about 3 weeks. Looks like a Chippie anyways!
Directions to Erieau: The port of Erieau is located south of Blenheim.
West out of Blenheim on Talbot Trail (Rd. 3), turn left onto (Erieau Rd.)
Rd. 12 and follow to village. The Government dock is found by turning left
at the T-intersection at the restaurant, then taking an immediate right
turn, following the road along the marina. Go past Barney's Boats (left
side) to dock area.
