Birders,
I put this in for interest. The site is an hour boat ride from
Parry Sound in Spider Bay. I spent three days fishing last week, most of the
time close to shore with a quiet motor so I could hear bird song. In the
whole time I only heard one Prairie Warbler singing. When I worked at Camp
Hurontario at the mouth of Twelve Mile bay as camp naturalist in the 60's
they were common. They were also common at Long Lake in the Kawartha Highlands
but they have disappeared from there in the 80's.
