Observation start time: 10:00:00
Observation end time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 4 hours

Official Counter: Jim Dunn

Observers: Mary Carnahan

Weather:
Moderate W winds and temp to a high of 7C. About 40 percent cloud cover for
the count period.

Raptor Observations:
Just a few birds through today with a total of 11. Some late TV's (3),
singles of Bald Eagle, Harrier, Cooper's and a Golden Eagle...and a few
Redtails (4).

Non-raptor Observations:
Despite the scarcity of raptors today, observers were treated to a broad
variety of very interesting sighitngs including 2 large flocks of TUNDRA
SWANS totalling approximately 100 birds. They were flying low, calling to
each other and headed south out over the lake. Other flybys included a
PILEATED WOODPECKER and a small flock of SNOW BUNTINGS. As well, we got
another look at the NORTHERN SHRIKE spotted last week along the edge of the
cornfield at the B&B.

A brief walk at the south end of HC Rd. yielded nice looks at 6 FIELD
SPARROWS, a very late sighting, and while a scouting trip to Sparta Ridge
yielded 0 migrating raptors, we did manage to spot 15 WILD TURKEYS.
