Relative abundance maps from the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas project are now
available on-line. These maps are derived from point count surveys and from
colonial waterbird surveys.

Along with breeding distribution maps from both atlas one (1981-85) and atlas
two (2001-2005), you can find the abundance maps here, in both English and
French:

I hope everyone will enjoy them, especially all the atlassers who worked so
hard to collect all the point count data that made these fantastic maps
possible.

If you want all of these maps in one convenient package that includes an
explanation of the distributions shown, and why they've changed between
atlases, you'll want to purchase the atlas book. It's available from
http://www.birdsontario.org/atlas/index.jsp?lang=en and contains a wealth of
information (species accounts, front chapters, analyses, detailed appendices)
that cannot be found elsewhere. The atlas price is now discounted to $63
including taxes and delivery in Canada. It makes a great Christmas gift!

Cheers,

Mike
