Its been a good start to the day today as Brandon Holden reports that there has been one Long-tailed Jaeger and 16 Sabine's Gulls including one adult out at VanWagners Beach. PLEASE NOTE: The Terry Fox run is happening in this area today so I am not sure of parking and access but Lakeshore Road in Burlington will be closed. I believe it is just this morning that the run is going on. I suggest taking the Burlington Skyway to Woodward or maybe better the Centennial Parkway exit and then to VanWagners Beach Road. Early afternoon may be better for access but we needed to get the word out.
Directions, courtesy of Cheryl Directions to Van Wagners Beach: Take the Centennial Parkway (Hwy.20) exit from the QEW in east Hamilton and proceed north to the North Service Rd., turn left and continue west as it turns into Van Wagners Beach Road. Continue to the parking lots at either Hutch's Restaurant or the Lakeland Centre viewing tower and view the lake anywhere near here. Good Luck Cheryl Edgecombe _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
