Greetings!
There is a adult drake Harlequin Duck swimming just inside Cobourg
Harbour. The bird is in and out of the harbour mouth, and vanishes at
times, but at present is well inside the harbour, close to the
breakwall. I'd suggest checking from the main pier, but if it is not
visible go over to the boat launch parking and try from there. I
first saw it from the S end of the west headland, and at that time it
was only visible from there, so walk out the headland if it's not
visible from the parking lot.
Directions: Exit #401 at the eastern Cobourg exit [#474] and turn
south off the exit ramp. This is Division Street. Continue south
through town and Division ends in the main pier of the harbour, with
excellent views of the area.
To access the boat launch area, turn left just after exiting the
pier area. Drive west to the next street [Third Street] turn left and
then left again just past the marina.
