Visitors:
At least 35 visitors to the Tower today, including, among others, Jim
McCoy, Bob Pettit, Steve Wagner, Patrick Tomlinson, Sarah Rupert, Gerald
Peltier, Wayne and Sylvia Telasco, Carmen Hudson, and Andrew Davis.


Weather:
Partly to mostly cloudy skies with breezy Northeast to East winds at 3 to
12 mph and gusts in excess of 15 mph. Winds were variable at times
throughout the PM, often swinging from Northeast to Southeast in the same
minute. Temps. climbed from 13.6 to about 21.5C. Visibility good to
excellent.

Raptor Observations:
Only 2 small kettles of Broadwings. 

Non-raptor Observations:
12 species of waterfowl

Black-crowned Night-heron- 5, 
Bald Eagle- at least 6 locals,

Shorebirds included Am. Golden-Plover(3), Killdeer(8), Lesser
Yellowlegs(5), Solitary(1) and Pectoral(1) Sandpipers, and and Wilson's
Snipe(3).

Chimney Swift- 15,
Ruby-throated Hummingbird- 1,

Yellow-bellied Sapsucker- 3 

Eastern Phoebe- 2

Blue Jay- 73,250,

Red-breasted Nuthatch- 3,
White-breasted Nuthatch- 2,

Golden-crowned Kinglet- 1

Red-eyed Vireo- 2,

American Pipit- 7+,
Cedar Waxwing- 546,

Minimal flight of warblers in comparison to yesterday, 24 Sep. About 10
species in total.

Rose-breasted Grosbeak- 2,

Monarch- 52,
few dragonflies today.

Predictions:
Overcast to mostly cloudy skies with Southeast to South-southwest winds at
5 to 10 mph. High of 23C. Chance of rain showers around 70% with a possible
PM t-storm. Come celebrate the final day of the Festival of Hawks tomorrow.
Weather permitting, there will be songbird and raptor banding
demonstrations and adoptions.
