Despite a poor flight overnight, I did well this morning finding over 90 
species along part of the Durham waterfront in preparation for my forthcoming 
birdathon ... 

Northern Mockingbird, Little Gull, Red-thr. Loon, 75+ Whimbrel and 3 Brant at 
foot of Courtice St in Courtice.

Second Marsh & Darlington Barrier Beach, Oshawa - another Red-thr. Loon + lots 
of Commons , Dunlin, SP Sandpiper, SP Plover, R. Turnstone, BB Plover, Least 
Sandp. + lots of Eastern Kingbirds migrating west in the face of hundreds of 
Blue Jays going east !!!! + lots of Swainson's Thrushes and Blackpoll Warblers 
and 7 Orchard Orioles

BB Cuckoo at Hall's Road/Cranberry Marsh

Directions:

Courtice Rd exits off the 401 east of Oshawa. Second Marsh and Darlington 
Barrier Beach can be accessed off the 401 at the Harmony Rd. Exit (419) in 
Oshawa. Go south on
Farewell St. Colonel Sam Drive. Turn East onto Colonel Sam Drive and follow
to the parking lot at the GM Headquarters. Park in the west parking lot
close to the marsh. The east (GM) platform is visible from the NW corner of
the lot. Hall's Rd can be found by exiting the 401 at Brock St in Whitby and 
going south to Victoria St then west to Hall's Rd and then south to the lake.
