This morning Matt Redsell, of Port Burwell, spotted a Black-crowned Night Heron flying in the harbour area (Big Otter Creek) in Port Burwell.

He contacted Ron Allensen, who contacted me, to check it out. We went to the harbour about 9:00 am this morning in rainy weather and spotted this bird and a second one nearby. They were perched in the European Alders on the west side of the harbour across from the lighthouse. A third bird was spotted in the trees opposite the Provincial Park office towards the harbour and about half way down the hill on Chatham St.
