As one might suspect from the weather, not much to add to the Winter List at Point Pelee this morning except Bufflehead, Field Sparrow, Chipping Sparrow and Pine Siskin. Interestingly, the Pine Siskin was standing on the sand at the Tip next to a Killdeer. A female Cooper's Hawk also had some interesting behaviour. It would pick up one leg, squeeze its toes together, release them, then do the other leg. It did that over and over for the 15 minutes or so I watched the bird. Guess it needs some tiny polar fleece fingerless gloves to put over its feet so that its talons stick out.
