Hi Everyone
The 27th Annual Dunrobin,On.-Breckenridge, P.Q. Christmas Bird Count took place today, December 22nd. A total of 46 species were recorded (average 50) by 42 field observers. The weather conditions were ideal with overcast skies, calm to light winds and high +3c. Walking was somewhat restricted due to knee deep snow- unless you had snowshoes! The following highlights were recorded.

New Species: Gray Catbird (1) Present at my parents feeder since early December and the 109 species to be recorded on the Dunrobin CBC!

Record Highs: Previous highs are shown in parentheses
                     Wild Turkey 178 (105)
                     American Crow 1024 (583)

Tied Record Highs: Red-shouldered Hawk 1 (1998)
                             Merlin 2 (2006)
                             Hoary Redpoll 4 (1986)

Other species of interest: Eastern Screech-Owl (1)

Winter Finches: Pine Grosbeak (38)
                       Purple Finch (0)
                       White-winged Crossbill (0)
                       Common Redpoll (478)
                       Pine Siskin (3)
                       American Goldfinch (179)
                       Evening Grosbeak (103)
