Winds were light mainly varying from the west in the morning to southeast in the afternoon. Raptor Observations: As has been the pattern of late, the early part of the day was devoid of any movement of raptors. In fact, a large proportion of the flight was during about a three-hour period from late morning into the early afternoon. This compact movement is quite typical of November flights of birds and very unlike some of the late day pushes we have been seeing lately. Buteos dominated the flight on the whole per usual but today there was a very high percentage of Red-shoulders seen in the overall count for the day. Non-raptor Observations: Small flocks of migrating Tundra Swans have been noted the last couple of days along with large numbers of migrant diving ducks, mostly Scaup and Canvasback. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
