Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 17:00:00
Total observation time: 10 hours

Official Counter: Josh Haas

Observers: Calvin Brennan, Charlene Brennan, Darlene Friedman,
                  Jeff Schultz

Visitors:
Perhaps a few less than the day previous but still 30-40 visitors were
present at the site at any given time today.

Weather:
Today saw sunny skies again with a bit of cumulous buildup in the middle of
the day. Winds were light and variable in the morning becoming light to
moderate southeast by midday.

Raptor Observations:
A very good flight was seen throughout the day with several species having
season high counts including Sharp-shins, Kestrels and Harriers. While the
Broad-wing movement was very good, it was not as impressive as the previous
day, due in part to the wind that pushed the flight well to the north. Some
folks that ventured as far up river as Elizabeth Park reported seeing many
more Broad-wings and undoubtedly there were even more that made the
crossing still further north. Still, very good numbers were recorded and
the early part of the day at least provided lots of looks at migrating
raptors for the crowd gathered for hawkfest. As mentioned Sharp-shins were
among the species that had high counts and included one hour of almost four
hundred birds as well as several other hours each with well over a hundred
Sharpies.

Non-raptor Observations:
Chimney Swifts continue to be one of the dominant migrants of the last few
days along with Tree and Northern Rough-winged Swallows.
