Today (Tuesday morning) our farm near Stratford was graced by a merlin cruising
eastward. Our fields are filling up with song, savannah, and vesper sparrows,
as well as horned larks and bobolinks. This year, for the first time in twelve
years, we've been hearing upland sandpiper, no doubt due to our
re-establishment of alfalfa around our organic fields.
