An adult Little Blue Heron was seen at Colonel Samuel Smith Park at around
11:30am on Friday 20th May. It had the distinctive slate blue colour together
with deep maroon head and neck, and feathering under the neck. The bird rested
on the outermost dock at the marina for 1/2 hour then flew off towards Toronto
Island. It was observed by many birders including Bruce Wilkinson. Many other
species are there including Gadwall, Ring-Necked Duck, Scaup, Loon, Red-Necked
Grebe and Horned Grebe.

Direction.
Take the QEW to Kipling Ave. South. Continue on Colonel Samuel Smith Park
Drive until you reach the park. Take the pathway around to the winter boat
storage and the docks.

Good Birding
