Hello Everyone,

Had a chance to bird the Niagara River today and saw the adult California Gull sitting on the same rocks as previous years, from the Adam Beck Power Generating Station overlook. Compared to the near-by Herring Gulls, the bird had extensive head streaking, a slightly darker mantle, a fairly large amount of black (with some red) on the bill, and dull yellow legs. In flight, the black on the wingtips was only slightly more extensive than the average Herring Gull, however large white mirrors on P9 and P10 were very noticeable.

Good Birding!
