Winds were mostly light and somewhat variable but predominately from the west. Raptor Observations: After a slow start there was a sharp increase in activity in the late morning. From that point onward there was a steady and heavy TV migration with decent if not large numbers of Red-tails and Red-shoulders mixed in. Some of the later groups of vultures were particularly impressive with kettles of several hundred birds whirling directly overhead. Other highlights of the day included 2 juvenile Northern Goshawks and a juvenile Golden Eagle. Non-raptor Observations: Large numbers of Rusty Blackbirds have been seen in the area as of late and a BrewerÂ’s Blackbird or two have been detected in some of these groups. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/
