This morning there was 1 Adult Lesser Black-backed among the very few other
gulls on the east side of the Markham By-Pass between Hwy 7 & 16th Ave.

I looked at Ressor Pond while out there but there were very few Canada Geese
or Gulls to look through, mostly Mallards.

Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 12:00:00
Total observation time: 4 hours

Official Counter: Dave Brown

Observers: Keith Sealy, Shay Redmond

Weather:
Another VERY WINDY day with GALE FORCE SW winds. Temp very chilly reaching
just 6C (and obviously felt much colder with the windchill). Heavy cloud
cover for the day with the ceiling steadily dropping until it started to
snow mixed with some rain.

Raptor Observations:
Again a difficult day for anything to fly...total count was just 26
birds...but the highlight was a couple more Peregrines the passed by the
count area right on the deck! A very late Osprey as well...and 4 more
Kestrels...edging us ever closer to 5000 for the season.

Non-raptor Observations:
Of interest today was a flock of at least 300 Bonaparte Gulls the fought
their way westward into the wind. Also saw several Tree Swallows.

Predictions:
Predicted W winds for Saturday but more sunshine...will likely make for a
slow flight...it's too hard to tell what will happen.
