Thickson's Woods in southeast Whitby gave us high-in-the-trees warblers, = in no great numbers, on Thursday, Apr.27 morning. Bird highlights-- = 2Black-throated Green Warblers, 1 Nashville W., 1 Palm W., a few Pine = and Yellow-rumped Warblers, a Red-breasted Nuthatch, a White-crowned = Sparrow, 1 House Wren, several Chipping Sparrows, 1 yellow-tinged = Blue-headed Vireo, 1 female Eastern Towhee, among all of the other = "regulars". A wildflower report--in flower--Trout Lilies, White Trillium, Red = Trillium, Marsh Marigold, THE Daphne shrub, Bloodroot, Mayapple (look = under the umbrella-like leaves), Blue Cohosh, Coltsfoot, among others. Exit the 401 onto Thickson Rd. in east Whitby, south all the way down = toward the lake, turning left/east onto the road that borders the north = edge of the pine forest.
