Correction - the Owl was a Barred Owl, not a Great Grey.

Subject: [Ontbirds]Great Grey Owl, Red-Tailed Hawk | Ottawa West

I viewed and photographed a Great Grey Owl and Red-Tailed Hawk this morning
(26-FEB-2006) on March Valley Road.

The Great Grey Owl was at the Ottawa Duck Club feeder, 100-200m SE of the
Riddel Road & March Valley Road intersection (N45.22.85, W75.56.31) at 10:00
AM. The GG was sitting in a tree near the feeders, and had been there for
at least a couple of hours

-----

The Red-Tailed Hawk was further was spotted hunting about 1K SE of the GG
Owl's location, near the Klondike Road & March Valley Road intersection, at
approx. 09:30.

Directions: From Ottawa, drive west on the 417 and exit north on March Road.
Turn right on Dunrobin after ~5Km where March Road turns left 90 degrees.
Riddell is to the right off Dunrobin, ~200m. March Valley Rd is on the
right, ~1Km.
