Pat & Nancy McCue live on the south shore of the St. Lawrance R. on Cartwright Point. Yesterday they saw a smallish white heron in bright sunlight.they called Faith Avis a Kingston birder, Faith and other cleary saw the light green legs at a short range, about 4 to 5 m. and the greenish upper part of the bill & its black tip. They checked Faith's "Siblley Guide" Light conditions were clear in bright sun and the verdict was LITTLE BLUE HERON (LBHE).

I arrived later. Light conditions were still excellent. The LBHE was still at a distance of about 4 m. I am sure that Faith Avis & I & others have seen the 1st LBHE sighting for Cartwright Point.

This morning Nancy McCue told me that the LBHE was not seen after I left yesterday.
