Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Cindy Isenhoff

Observers: Jim McCoy, Karen Padbury, Rene Keibossa

Visitors:
The Majority of our visitors today were students from a local University
who spent time on the Hawk Tower as well as a tour at the Banding Station
for some "up-close and personal" looks at a variety of birds. We thank
you all for coming, and hope to see you back on the tower soon!

Weather:
Today's weather of clear skies, bright sunshine, and south or south-west
winds made for a delightful day on the tower, but kept our raptor numbers
low. Temperatures ranged from 16 degrees C this morning, up to 24 degrees
C this afternoon.

Raptor Observations:
Turkey vultures have definately begun moving through the area.
Sharp-shinned hawks continue as well, and fly no matter the weather it
seems. Very few other raptors today. All on the tower were treated to an
"up close" pass-by of one of the resident immature Bald Eagles. Many
"oohhs and aahhs" were heard.

Non-raptor Observations:
Blue Jays and American Gold Finches continue in large numbers with 16,930
and 860 respectively. Other migrants today included several hundred Tree
Swallows, several groups of Cedar Waxwings approx 60 total and 20 Monarch
Butterflies.
