Weather: Well...I guess based on today's great count that the nights have been cool enough and the daytime weather nice enough for soaring that the raptors have decided to move out. :) A bright sunny day today with very little cloud cover and temp to 25. Winds were light and from the NW to start the day and then backed around to the SW by the afternoon. Raptor Observations: Great count today with a relatively big flight of Broadwings with 27,540 tallied. Another NEW RECORD today for BALD EAGLES with 30...this is the 3rd 1-day count record that's been broken for 3 different species over the course of the last week! Also, note that with today's count, the one-month record for Ospreys has been broken...it was 177 but is now 215. and the 1-year record for Osprey will most likely be surpassed as it's currently at 226 (set in 2002). Non-raptor Observations: Predictions: Doesn't look good for Monday with a chance of showers and light SE winds....the worst wind for observing good raptor flights at Hawk Cliff. :( ======================================================================== Report submitted by Dave Brown ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.on.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm Site Description: Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch: Oldest Hawkwatch in Ontario - since 1931 - located just east of Port Stanley on the cliff overlooking Lake Erie Directions to site: >From east 401, take the Highbury south cut off at London, follow Highbury (Hwy 30) south to St. Thomas.
