Birders,
I spent a little more than 1/2 day at Point Pelee today. There were many pockets of active warblers, especially on the Woodland Trail, also abundant Swainson's Thrushes and a couple a Veerys. The juvenile CONNECTICUT WARBLER was on the east beach path nearly to the tip. One Blackburnian and one Cape May had essentially spring plumage colors. Eastern Wood Pewees were plentiful, but the only other flycatcher was a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher. There were plenty of Sharp-shinned Hawks, one Cooper's, one Red-shouldered Hawk and one female Merlin. I did not see or hear one sparrow all morning.
