There was a group of eight avocets feeding in the Big Creek Marsh area about 1/2 mile due west of the Hawk Tower at Holiday Beach Conservation Area on Sunday morning, Sept 4. The birds actively feeding in a tight flock at 7:45 am. They were still there when I left the area at 12:45 pm. They are most easily observed from Hawk Tower with a scope.
