Hi Everyone
Today, August 22, 2005 I birded along the Ottawa River from Britannia to Constance Bay. At the Britannia Conservation Area there was a good selection of landbirds, 15 species of warblers including 1 Blackpoll, 1 Black-throated blue, 1 Blackburnian and 1 Cape May. Numerous Scarlet Tanagers, Baltimore Orioles and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks were observed. Along the Ottawa River the water level was high compared to last week and shorebird numbers were lower. Near the Britannia Pier there were 2 juv. Red Knot feeding along the shoreline. At the "old burn site" at Constance Bay, 5 Red-headed Woodpeckers were observed fly catching/feeding, 2 adult and 3 juv.'s.
                                                   good birding
