This morning at approximately 7 am I observed an all white waterfowl in the St. Clair river at the foot of Ferry Dock hill in Sarnia. This appeared to be a mallard in every way shape and form. This bird was accompanied by an immature drake mallard and the white bird appeared the same size and silhouette i.e. born this year.

I observed both birds for 15 minutes. They swam together and were sifting food from the river exactly as any normal run of the mill mallard would.

What made this such a singular event was that I was able to compare the behavior of the albino to the immature drake. Their behavior was identical.

Sarnia is on any map. Ferry Dock hill is directly on the St. Clair river at the intersection of Cromwell and Christina streets in downtown Sarnia.
