The Sandhill Cranes first reported on Ontbirds on Aug 1st, are still around.
Seen by 2 couples on the afternoon of the 5th, and again today (the 7th) both
about 9:30 am (also about 2 dozen Canada Geese) and 12:30 p.m. They are again
the farm field immediately east of the barns of Taylea Farm.

Directions: Dewitts Corners is at the intersection of Cameron Sideroad and
Christie Lake Road south of Hwy 7, west of Perth. Coming from Hwy 7 on Cameron
Sideroad turn left. Taylea Farm is about 1 km along that road beyond the
Catholic Church.

James Kamstra conducted a wonderful outing for 22 keen dragonfly-finders on
this warm Aug. 7 morning at The darlington pond. Some good birds were
seen--Great Egret, N.Mockingbird, Green Heron, Great Blue Heron, Pied-billed
Grebe, Solitary Sandpiper, Lesser and Greater Yellowlegs, Kingfishers,
female Baltimore Oriole.
Among the 20 or more Odonatas were-- Familiar Bluet, Eastern Forktail,
Lance-tipped Darner, Spotted Spreadwing, Common Spreadwing, Calico Pennant,
Common Pondhawk, Widow Skimmer, Blue Dasher, White-faced Meadowhawk and many
12-spotted Saddlebags, Black Saddlebags and Common Green Darner.
Exit 401 at #425--east along the S.Service Rd. to Solina Rd., south toward
the lake to the last parking area.
