There was a good influx of birds overnight, add to that a few lucky fly-bys (GREAT BLUE HERON, BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERON, flock of YELLOWLEGS) and it made for a pretty good morning in Resources Road Ravine and adjacent Pine Point Park (57 species, and I expect to add 2 or 3 more in the evening). Best of all was a male BREWSTER'S WARBLER singing the song of the Blue-winged Warbler. Other new arrivals were BLUE-HEADED VIREO, AMERICAN REDSTART (2), WOOD THRUSH (2), CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT and SCARLET TANAGER.
Resources Road Ravine can be accessed from the foot of Dee Avenue, which is the first street west off Weston Road immediately south of Hwy 401. Cross the footbridge and then walk south.
