The bright sunny skies seems to have dictated to the Great Grays to move
elswhere than along the Hall's Rd. roadside, except in the very early AM
hours.
Hence I elected to go east!!-- no Hawk Owl at Welcome at the noonhour area,
and no owls along Lake Shore Rd. east of Bond Head.
BUT, I was ecstatic to see a female RUFFED GROUSE at the very top of a 5m.
basswood tree, sunning while feeding on the big buds-- is Spring ahead? She
remained there for 10 minutes, allowing me to witness every feature of the
bird. At the old wooden trestle bridge an adult N.Shrike landed in a
railside sumac.
