This is Chris Lewis reporting.

A visit to the northeast region of the district today Jan. 30th
proved to be quite productive. In the Lac Lablanche area north of
Mayo, Quebec, there were 3 Bald Eagles, one female BLACK-BACKED
WOODPECKER (along Inlet Rd.) and good numbers of White-winged
Crossbills and Pine Siskins throughout the area. On the 29th in
the northwest, along Eardley-Masham Rd. and Steele Rd. there were
4 Bald Eagles and 1 Rough-legged Hawk. 8 Pine Grosbeaks were at
the property with the large crabapple tree along Eardley-Masham,
and a female BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER was seen farther up the road
after the entrance to Gatineau Park near the top of the 1st hill.
4 White-winged Crossbills and approx. 20 Cedar Waxwings were also
in the vicinity on the 29th, along with 2 GREAT GRAY OWLS.

Two male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE were at Remic rapids on the 25th. The
dark morph Red-tailed Hawk was still at the Gatineau airport as of
the 25th, and a report of a Peregrine Falcon feeding on a pigeon
came from the Alta Vista area on the 26th.

Twelve GRAY PARTRIDGE were seen on the morning of the 30th at the
corner of Moodie and Brophy Dr. and 5 Wild Turkeys were at the
feeder on March Valley Dr. at Riddell. Rd. on the 29th.

On the 29th the very white male Snowy Owl was seen along Shea Rd.
between Eagleson and Brownlee Rds. Another very dark Snowy was
along Rushmore between Eagleson and Richmond Rds. on the 24th. and
in the same area on the 29th as well. GREAT GRAY OWLS were again
reported in multiple numbers from March Valley Rd. in the west end
and Petrie Island in the east on the morning of the 29th.

Both the RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS at Constance Bay and the Red-
bellied Woodpecker south of Manotick were still present as of at
least the 23rd, and a surprise winter bird today the 30th was a
Northern Flicker at the corner of Johnston and Albion Rds. in
Ottawa south. Approx. 20 Bohemian Waxwings were along the Marathon
trail network off Goulbourn Forced Rd. in Kanata on the 29th.
