When I arrived (0830) at the north pathway on Hall's Rd. there were 23 cars
parked!! Over the next 6 hours a Barred Owl "entertained" people by
purposefully(!!) roosting very near them, and periodically diving down, with
one successful vole snag out of he snow. He flew off with the vole,
returning with bloodied beak moments later. There were probably more than
the 3 Great Grays that I saw in the area.
At 1000 a female PILEATED WOODPECKER came in to a big tree near the
northpath entry--she remained for the many photographers for 30 minutes or
so, before flying off, with a wucka-wucka-wuck, to join her mate down the
pathway.
At the north pathway platform area were--- 1 Swamp Sparrows, 2 Song Sparrows
and 1 White-throated Sparrow among the many Am.Tree Sparrows.
Raptors seen-- 1 ad. N.Goshawk, 1 dark morph Rough-legged, 3 Red-taileds,
and a Sharp-shinned was reported.

I plan to go to Amherst Island on Sunday; I do hope someone will post
observations along Hall's Rd.
