The Port Hope area northern hawk owl previously reported on this list is
still being seen in the area, and was last sighted on Thursday off of Hwy.
#2 west of Welcome.

Great gray owls are being seen on the various sections of Lake Shore Road
from Grafton to west of Port Hope and possibly beyond.

The cover story for the February 2005 issue of National Geographic
magazine is about great gray owls.

Four of these magnificent birds have been treated at a Campbellford
veterinary clinic and survivors transferred to Guelph
(www.eastnorthumberland.com).

Thanks to Doug Lockery. The Halls Road birds are magnificent. You are a
great host, Doug. Thanks for gently reminding us to maintain good birding
ethics and to keep at a distance.
