Jon,

My friend Thomas Robertson and I were also on Torbolton Ridge Rd on
Christmas Day. We drove past 4165 and came across a Great Grey about half a
kilometer past the house. He was right beside the road, not more than 30
feet away! We were able to watch and photograph him for 45 minutes! This
was at 1:00pm. We then headed for Constance Bay, but the thrill of the
Great Grey wouldn't leave our thoughts. We returned to the area to find him
(another?) at the edge of the field at Torbolton Ridge & Kinburn Side Road.
This was at about 2:15pm. We watched him hunt for about 45 minutes in the
field. More vehicles showed up at that point and we needed to leave around
3:00pm. We were the ones in the red Chevy Astro Van. Were you there at
that time?

We were also on Vance's Side Road and crusing around that area earlier, as
we had seen a Great Horned Owl there last year, but we were not nearly as
luck as you. What time did you do your observing?

Anyway, we came away with 81 pictures and memories that will last a
lifetime. A wonderful treat on Christmas Day!

Todd Weeks
