Hello All,

I had a phone call from Janice this morning at 9:30 to tell me that
the Rufous Hummingbird had not shown up for feeding at the regular time
of 7:00 this morning.
After some searching she was found dead near the top of the Christmas
tree that Janice and her husband had set up for her. "Hannah" will be
missed by all those who took an interest in her, especially Janice and
her husband who did everything they possibly could to keep her alive
during these past cold weeks.

My father and I were part of a group of about 20 people that saw the White-eyed
Vireo this morning between 10:00 A.M. and 11:45 A.M. During this span of time
it frequented an area about 200 feet north of the Children's Garden along
Colborne Lodge Road, in the grape tangles and other vegetation near some Blue
Spruces. It was always behind the fence. It stayed from 5 to 20 feet high and
allowed for absolutely outstanding looks. It certainly is a beautiful bird, and
none of the books we looked at capture its brilliant yellow-green colouration.
