Hello Ontbirders.
Because the PINERY Parks Management has removed a barrier put in place by the Park Naturalists to protect the NATURE RESERVE that includes a section the Shore and Dunes that protects several ENDANGERED SPECIES after a single complaint from a jogger, many naturalists in Lambton are enquiring about ANY records of PIPING PLOVER, PROTHONOTARY WARBLER, PRAIRIE WARBLER to see if we can get the decision reversed, especially in the area of Picnic Area #9. Other less mobile Endangered Species include the PITCHERS THISTLE, DWARF HACKBERRY, OLYMPIA MARBLEWING Butterfly and HOGNOSE SNAKE. All of which are identified in the Pinery Provincial Park Management Plan. The Minister took Ten weeks to reply to our initial queries while the managers cooked up their response! No doubt I will be in trouble for posting this, but two days ago my request to the compiler was bounced. Good Birding .(And Better Birding in the Pinery).
