An adult Ross Goose (white phase) was present today around noon in a flock of about 140 Greater Snow Goose near Hallville in Eastern Ontario. The bird was found by Tom Hanrahan and seen by several other observers, the birds were loafing beside a small pond and were still present when I left. Also of interest were two "Cackling Goose" on the Rideau River at Moodie's Bay, Ottawa.

Directions: Ross Goose: From route 43 in Hallville follow Rural Route #1 north several kilometers until you see a large dugout on the eastside of the road; there is a large concentration of geese alternating between feeding in nearby cornfields and loafing by the pond. Cackling Goose: Seen along the shore at the corner of Riverside and Walkley Roads.
