At 12:10 p.m., as we drove north from the Aylmer Wildlife Management Area
an adult Snowy Owl [very white with few markings] flew across the Hacienda
Road in front of us from east to west. It landed in a recently ploughed
field where it was harassed by a couple of crows. It was still present
when we left at 12:15 p.m.
From Aylmer WMA drive north on Hacienda Road to College Line which is the
road bordering the north side of the property. Continue north 200 metres
or so on Hacienda and look in the fields to the west. If you can't see it
from here return to College Line and drive west looking in the fields to
the north.
From Hwy 401, drive south on Hwy 73/Elgin Line which is called Imperial
Road in Elgin County. Turn left/east on College Line and look in the
fields to the north as you approach Hacienda Line. If you haven't found it
yet, turn north/left on Hacienda Rd and search the fields to the west.
