Hello all, Bruce Di Labio, Diane Whitman and myself went out to Beach 1 this morning to watch the mixed species feeding frenzy that has been developing to impressive proportions in Popham Bay (off shore from the beach) in recent weeks. We relocated the immature Black-legged Kittiwake as well as one 2nd winter Little Gull, a Red-necked Grebe seen
among roughly 4000 Rb Mergansers, 1500 Bonaparte's, 1500 Herring Gull, 500 Rb Gull. The fog today made it difficult to see the bulk of the birds and there may be many more out of sight; certainly many more could be heard calling in the fog. On Gull Island there were two Snowy Owls, 2 B-b Plover and one American Golden Plover. Cheers, Doug McRae Directions: Take the Brighton exit from Hwy. 401 and follow south into town. Once in Brighton, follow the park signs to Presqu'ile.
