I received a call from Erwin Meisner last night telling me that he had seen
17 Great Gray Owls along the Highway 17 corridor between Iron Bridge and
Massey on November 11. He also reported on the 12th along Dean Lake Road
near Iron Bridge, there were 7 Great Gray Owls. He also reported that there
were the odd Northern Hawk Owl in that stretch of the highway. In Espanola,
Erwin saw 1 immature Red-headed Woodpecker.
Joanne and I went out today and found 1 Great Gray Owl along Echo River
Road in Echo Bay and 1 Great Gray Owl at the north end of Lakeview Road.
At Echo Bay marsh there were 176 Tundra Swans and 1 very late water pipit.
