Observation end time: 16:30:00
Total observation time: 7.5 hours

Official Counter: Calvin Brennan

Observers: Matt Pety, Terry Angevine

Weather:
Today saw partial clearing in the morning after overcast skies overnight.
Skies remained partly cloudy into the early afternoon when conditions
became mostly clear and sunny. Winds were generally moderate from the
north-northeast for most of the day, dropping off somewhat by mid
afternoon.

Observations:
Conditions really were ideal for hawk watching with plenty of cloud as a
background and lots of birds directly overhead. This was really the first
time this fall when the movement was in the form of mixed kettles,
sometimes with five or six species together in one group. Most species had
excellent movements highlighted by the first two Northern Goshawks of the
season, both juveniles, and two juvenile Golden Eagles. Also, an adult
dark morph Red-tail was seen in one of the mixed kettles of hawks.
