Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 7 hours

Official Counter: Su Ross-Redmond

Observers: Mac

Visitors:
Grace and Jerry and their friends Phil & his wife (name I don't remember)
were quite impressed. They have been coming to the cliff for about 8
years and never had a look at a Peregrine like that before! They were
thrilled...some days it's quality and not quantity. :)
Also Mark from the Soo was out to help spot birds.

Weather:
Moderate to light SE winds with temp to 21. A few clouds moved in by
afternoon.

TUV=4 (Good)

Observations:
Only 25 birds today (no surprise with the SE winds). The highlights today
were the Peregrines. One Peregrine came bulleting through at 9:25A.M.
(bird time) followed by 2 juvenile Bald Eagles that came through almost
together at 9:31. Then for the highlight of the day, a juvenile peregrine
at 9:59A.M., that put on quite a show, diving over the cliff, popping up,
diving on and catching Monarchs, then letting them go. Probably performed
for us for about 6-7 minutes before he moved on.

Predictions:
Wel...the forecast for the weekend is promising given were hoping for good
strong SW winds. For Saturday, if the rain holds off...the prediction is
for SW winds switching to strong NW winds by afternoon. Sunday may be even
better with strong SW winds predicted. Could be an excellent weekend for
Peregrine flights at the Cliff.
