Following John Schmelefske's earlier posting re Buff-breasted Sandpipers near
Beeton, Don Perks, Jerry Guild and myself journeyed there mid-afternoon to see
if the two birds he had reported were still there. In fact not only were they,
but an additional 7 birds were observed bringing our total to 9 Buff-breasted
Sandpipers.

We did however, find only one of the 69 Golden Plovers that he had found nearby.

The Buff-breasted Sandpipers were in a recently de-sodded field on the
southwest corner of the intersection of the 15th sideroad and the 10th
line of Tecumseth. To reach the 15th sideroad go east from the town of
Beeton about 2 kilometres along the Beeton road and turn north (just
off the Beeton path). The 10th line is the second sideroad north. The
tilled fields east of this field have many Horned Lards and a few days
ago there was a Lapland Longspur.

To see the Golden Plover, take the 9th line west from the 15th sideroad
and search the recently cleared sod fields to the south about half a
kilometre down
