At Van Wagners Beach in Hamilton, on Thursday, September 2 between 5:30-6:30 pm, Jim Heslop and I had a juv. dark morph Long-tailed Jaeger and juv. intermediate morph Parasitic Jaeger in the light east winds. These two birds were interacting with each other, although about 500 m out, giving reasonable comparisons, with at one point the Long-tailed harassing the Parasitic for its meal first disgorged by a Herring Gull. Another light morph Jaeger sp. was later seen farther out. (Sorry for the late post, but this my first opportunity to do so.)
Directions: From the QEW in Hamilton, take the Hwy. 20 (Centennial Parkway) exit, go north, turn left on the North Service Rd, follow this onto Van Wagners Beach Dr., turn into the parking lot at Hutch's Restaurant. Best viewing for pelagics is on easterly winds. Rob Dobos Dundas [EMAIL PROTECTED]
