The two avocets at Pt Stanley sewage lagoons seem to have been reduced
to one. At approx 0830 hrs Saturday July 31 there were 2 however at
0930 hrs today only one could be found.

Directions: Sunset Rd ( old Hwy 4) to Pt Stanley exit at Warren St -
alternate route to beach straight thru stop street to first rd on
right ( it is a Y intersection) the viewing stands can be seen to the
north west. Turn right to lagoons 1 km. Use westerly viewing stand
avocet in 3rd cell from the east.

Today, John Black, Alan Smith, Brian Ahara and I found 7 Red Knots on the
Lake Erie shoreline off Harbourview Road near Morgan's Point in Burnaby.
There were some 140 shorebirds there of 7 species including one
Black-bellied Plover. By contrast, we saw no shorebirds at Morgan's Point.

Directions: Travel west out of Port Colborne on Highway 3 for about 2 km to
Golf Course Road. Go left here to the Lake Erie shoreline.....Harbourview
Road is an extension of Golf Course Road that runs south-west parallel to
the actual shoreline.
