Hello Ontbirders

    Today, May 16, 2004, birded the sewage lagoons east of Ottawa.
Overall is was good with 1000+ Least Sandpipers and small of numbers of
Lesser Yellowlegs and a few Short-billed Dowitcher, Pectoral Sandpiper
and Wilson's Phalarope. Ruddy Ducks were observed at three different
lagoons.
    The highlight was a flock of 250+ Lapland Longspurs, many in
breeding plumage beside the St. Albert Sewage lagoon.

Directions: From Ottawa take Hwy. 417 east to exit #79  and go south on
Cty Rd 5 towards
Chrysler.  Proceed around a large corner where the road becomes Cty Rd
7. The sign for the lagoon is on the south side of the road, opposite
