This evening around 8.00 pm (Thursday May13) I saw a group of (what I assume were) Great Egrets offshore, flying west and parallel with the north shore of Lake Ontario in Burlington. It would be reasonable to predict they were heading for Hamilton Harbour or Cootes Paradise. Unusual I think because the four were high (estimated to be greater than 500M.) flying tight together in a staggered in-line formation and early (?).
