The camaraderie among birders in Thickson's Woods has to be second-to-none.
In spite of fog and rains everyone played a great part on this May 1 day in
passing-on of just where specific birds may be within this marvelous
paradise. During a brief weather retreat to a doughnut shop several people
contributed to ideas for building a special tower at Cranberry!!

19 warblers were reported throughout the AM-- highlights being 2 Hooded,
Northern Waterthrush, Louisiana Waterthrush, Ovenbird, Blackburnian,
Wilson's, Nashville, Yellow, Cape May, Blue-winged, Am. Redstart and
Blue-winged. I believe a Tennessee Warbler may have been seen.
Other good birds -- Great Crested Flycatcher, Least Flycatcher (in the north
meadow),Veery, Wood Thrush, Warbling Vireo, Blue-headed Vireo, Cooper's
Hawk, Baltimore Oriole and Orchard Oriole.

401 to Thickson Rd., south toward the lake-- turning left at the street just
along the north fringe of the woods.

Reminder--- BREAKFAST and BOBOLINKS --the Saturday, May 8 spring festival at
Thickson's.
