Numerous white pelicans, 16 or more, were seen on the Nipigon River at the Marina in Nipigon between April 23 and 27. Also, on the 23rd, about 34 were seen on Cranberry Cove, at Hurkett. > Directions: For Nipigon River: From Highway 11/17 at Nipigon, take Railway Street, then follow the sigs to the to Nipigon marina. Go past the government dock as far as you can go to a turn-around where there is a small boat launch. Birds are usually in the middle of the river to the south. > For Hurkett, exit Highway 11/17 west of Nipigon on Highway 582 and follow signs to the Government Dock. Birds may be seen from the dock.
