Lapland Longspurs have now been going over Selkirk P. P. now for more than a
week almost daily but it appears a major flight took place to day.
Between 7:30 and 7:45 this morning standing outside the bnding trailer I
counted 82 go over with the largest group 30 birds.. From 7:50 to 9:10 while
conducting the daily census which comprises of walking around the banding
and immediate area I counted 249 go over in flocks ranging from 2 to over
50 birds. My count for the mourning was over 350 birds going east and I most
likely missed more than I saw.
The following warbler species were noted in and around the banding area this
mourning, Yellow-rumped, W. Palm, Pine and for me an early Blue-winged.
